Position Overview
The Senior, Financial Reporting, is responsible for the preparation of all aspects of Tellurian’s financial and SEC reporting requirements. The position will prepare technical accounting research related to new and proposed accounting standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supporting the complete and timely preparation of external reports including SEC periodic reports such as Forms 10-Q, 10-K and annual statutory financial reports.
- Interact closely with Corporate accounting and other business functions in order to prepare and analyze the Company's consolidated financial statements, footnotes and MD&A.
- Assist with the coordination of requested deliverables and requests with external auditors.
- Assist with the implementation and analysis of new accounting pronouncements.
- Assist with technical research, including evaluation and documentation of significant transactions (i.e., equity and debt offerings, M&A, new ventures, share-based awards, complex lease contracts, non-standard purchase contracts, derivative instruments, etc.).
- Assist with documentation and preparation of memoranda regarding complex accounting transactions and their impact on financial statements, business processes, and internal controls.
- Assist in a variety of special projects for the Manager, Financial Reporting, Chief Accounting Officer, and other members of Senior Management.
- Responsible for compliance with assigned accounting, financial reporting and disclosure internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA active license preferred
- Must have strong written and verbal skills (English language)
- Minimum of 4 years’ related accounting experience. Candidates with experience at a “Big4” accounting firm or a combination of “Big4” and public company environment are highly preferred
- Excellent financial reporting, technical accounting, and presentation abilities
- Able to work independently within a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment
- Proven reputation for ethical and professional conduct.
- Able to assess, analyze, and prepare financial statements disclosures under US GAAP
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written), and ability to interact, collaborate and influence across all levels of the organization
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
Travel
Limited domestic travel may be required to support some business activities.
Working Conditions
This job also operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
